BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN.

Debatable.
What is NOT is the straight up epic-ness of these paintings. In the midst of her hippie street style obsession Your Main Girl came across these Johanne Corno paintings at Opera GalleryYour Main Girl loves the sketchy style, aggressive poses, and mostly the peace signs. Corno's style shows emotion and expression by use of thick brush strokes.

The girls in these paintings may be 1D but YMG thinks you can learn a thing or two from them.

CRAVING SUMMER - AN ART POST

YMG has had enough of the snow and the cold and the rain and the snow.  There are 130 days until summer, and if you ask YMG that is 131 too many! Yes. It should have been summer yesterday, but since it was blizzarding instead here is a bunch of awesome "summer" art to help fill the void.

MINI POST: ART

THE ARTIST LEE PRICE: IN HONOR OF THE HOLIDAY
Asleep: Oil on Linen & Blueberry Pancakes II: Oil on Linen, 64" x 31" &  56” x 38”
Sleeping With Peaches: Oil on Linen, 56" x 81"

Your Main Girl didn't see this artwork in person though it is on display in New York at the Wendt Gallery and the Gallery Henoch. Her bad, she was too busy eating and stuff.

Speaking of eating and stuff; that is what Price has given to us via oil paint. She draws a woman, presumably herself, eating...and stuff. Well, excellent subject matter my friend, it really hits home for YMG. What is more heavenly than eating blueberry pancakes while you work on your hygiene. Don't answer that, Your Main Girl doesn't care.

THE NUDIE: AN ART POST

"I'VE NEVER SEEN A PAINTING OF A NAKED WOMAN BEFORE"
"The Pale", 36" x 48", oil on canvas. 2012
Well not like this anyways. The artworks of painter Aaron Nagel, are on show at the exhibit titled Soverign, currently on display at the Lyons Wier Gallery in Chelsea. YMG thinks these paintings are pretty awesome for a number reasons; she will tell you them now.

YMG doesn't want to state the obvious, but what is depicted here is an array of beautiful naked women. The female form has been drawn and painted and sculpted and collaged and drawn and filmed and drawn and painted throughout the history of fine art. Unlike the art you might have seen when your mom dragged you to The Metropolitan Museum of Art these are modern women. Being from this era Your Main Girl might be biased, but she thinks the female form has only been improving.
