THE NUDIE: AN ART POST

"I'VE NEVER SEEN A PAINTING OF A NAKED WOMAN BEFORE"
"The Pale", 36" x 48", oil on canvas. 2012
Well not like this anyways. The artworks of painter Aaron Nagel, are on show at the exhibit titled Soverign, currently on display at the Lyons Wier Gallery in Chelsea. YMG thinks these paintings are pretty awesome for a number reasons; she will tell you them now.

YMG doesn't want to state the obvious, but what is depicted here is an array of beautiful naked women. The female form has been drawn and painted and sculpted and collaged and drawn and filmed and drawn and painted throughout the history of fine art. Unlike the art you might have seen when your mom dragged you to The Metropolitan Museum of Art these are modern women. Being from this era Your Main Girl might be biased, but she thinks the female form has only been improving.

Is Your Main Girl right or what?
Nagel's paintings waiver between sexy and sublime. They  have a touch of Gothic mystery.  It is as if you were running around your 18th century English estate while woman of the night lounged on your various sof-áhhs(english accent).

"Lush", 30" x 40", oil on canvas, 2010
Well slap some black paint on Your Main Girl Mr. Nagel, she is ready and willing to pose. :)
