ART. B*TCH.

Fahamu Pecou Presents:
Irony Irony song link 2012, Acrylic, gold leaf, oil stick and spray paint on canvas
74 x 60 in
YMG is at a loss for words. She has never seen something so bada** in her entire life. Of course simply creating some baaaad art was not the Painter's intention. Why must artists be so complicated? A reviewer writes of the work: "Pecou's sly commentary flirts with the excesses of hip hop idolatry and offers contradictory thoughts and ideas through painting." Well that sounds intellectual and everything but Your Main Girl doesn't really care. She spotted these paintings from across the street and just had to see them up close and personal. Standing at 4ft x 6ft at the Lyons Wier Gallery these paintings are everything your little rich white butt secretly wished you could be.

One thing is for sure, YMG knows when someone has created something that is a feast for everyone's eyes.Pecou's unique style makes these paintings so aesthetically pleasing. Some weird art professor once told YMG that if you were going to add words to your painting you might as well drop-kick it and use it as firewood. Well thanks but no thanks because the words in these paintings take nothing and ADD EVERYTHING.

They are the life size Album Covers of your favorite hip hop CDs (that you probably never owned because you downloaded music illegally). In conclusion YMG thinks these paintings are pretty f*cking fantastic. And since she will never be able to afford one, making them the lock-screen image of her IPhone will have to suffice.
One last painting because she couldn't resist:
