Ron English: Crucial Fiction
YMG visited the Opera Gallery in SOHO to see Ron English's solo exhibit entitled, Crucial Fiction. She had to see this artist's work in person. Take a look at the most amazing, trippy, wtf art you-will-ever-see.
Let's start with Exhibit A: In front of us is Ms. Marilyn Monroe, one of the biggest sex symbols of modern America. We also have Mickey Mouse, one of the biggest childhood symbols of modern America. Two things that obv belong to together right? WRONG. But it feels so right.

Now for exhibit B: English takes the iconic Rolling Stones tongue and makes it cooler. You didn't think that was possible? Neither did Your Main Girl. The Lips are two people having funky intimate relations and the background is made up of psychedelic skulls.Didn't see that at first glance, did you?!

Exhibit C: The good stuff. Your main girl doesn't know how English comes up with this sh*t but she is happy he does! What could be better than a suspiciously happy Barney riding a T-rex, with Homer Simpson looking aimlessly by his side, and Ronald McDonald Chillin' in a UFO?...

Maybe a human-bodied, creature-eyed Powerpuff Girl? I suppose it really depends on your taste.

Lastly, take a gander at the following paintings. There are a lot of hidden treasures to find. For example, spongebob in the lower left corner.
